My Name is Sam. I live in Basel, a city in the northern corner of Switzerland, bordering on France and Germany. My main profession is User Experience Design. In this role I design digital products and service for a plethora of different clients. This pays for the bills, but my main passion is digital music production. This is what I spend most of my spare time on. I have a small but functional studio set up at home, out of which we plan on releasing our debut album this year. The tracks have been in the making for many years.
Last year I founded a small label called Racing Green Records with a couple of partners. We plan on releasing various artists this year, one of which is called Primary Thoughts. A duo consisting of me and a mate. Our music can be described as a beat heavy cinematic amalgamation of styles incorporating aspects of Hip-Hop, Funk, Techno, Electro, Trip-Hop and Ambient. And this is where the price comes into play. We create a lot of real live samples and loops to incorporate into our tracks. As recording environments are not always ideal, we often need to touch up and repair the recordings, which is exactly where Accusonus shines – especially as Logic Pro’s stock arsenal doesn’t offer much along those lines. And of course the beat production bundle is exactly up our street! This price could not have come at a better time for us. Thank you so much for this!

As a voiceover actor, I’ve had the opportunity to record and edit a wide variety of jobs. From commercials for chocolate to industrials for mobile platforms for offshore drilling. Then there are the long-form engagements, like documentaries and e-learning projects from the forces forming the physical universe to training for doctors and nurses. And while we’re talking about long-form there are audiobooks, where the challenges of fiction and non-fiction are very different. For fiction, the challenge is often to add variety to the different characters. For non-fiction, the words themselves may be the challenge. Technical terms from medicine, mathematics, chemistry. Words or sentences in foreign languages. I’ve recorded words or terms in Australian dialect, British English, Chinese, English (US), French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Latin (classical and church), Malay and that’s just from the beginning of the alphabet.
I’m an independent voiceover actor, which means I spend a lot of time in my studio recording auditions for voice work. But I’m also a perfectionist when it comes to editing and finalizing my work. That means for every hour I spend recording I spend two and a half editing. Yeah, my takes aren’t perfect. That’s where the Accusonus plug-ins come in. As an example, what I’ve done in the past is to determine the exact frequency of my sibilants and use an equalizer to tone them down. With Accusonus’ De-Esser, I’ll save a significant amount of time for a better result. And that's just one from the bundle.
Songwriters, music producers and DJ’s will love Rhythmiq's simple to use UI and enjoy hours of fun creating and producing new and interesting grooves. If you are into beat production then Rhythmiq should be on your radar. Watch our test video to see it in action.
In this test we put three popular de-clipper plug-ins up against each other in a blind listening test. Quality de-clipper plug-ins, such as the three products featured in this test, will repair and reconstruct clipped peaks lost (or not recorded) in the tracking process resulting in audio that sounds cleaner and, most importantly, usable. Clipping is a form of distortion artefact… not the type you want. Vote for the example you prefer the sound of.
