The Recordist Releases Helicopters HD Mini
Helicopters HD Mini is the first in a new series of sound effects collections that have the best of the best from a very specific subject. The helicopters in this set are from random fly-bys over the house and when out on location recording other material. Some are from airshows in the area and the local airport. Instead of waiting for more occasions when more random helicopters can be recorded to make a giant collection I’ve decided to release the cream of the crop from the last couple of years.
As time goes on they will update this collection with the latest helicopter recordings if there are any more random fly overs. They will be traveling to airports around the area and hopefully talk my way into gathering more sounds.
There are three helicopter models in this collection. These include a local “heavy lift” Huey, a AgustaWestland 119Kx “Koala” medical helicopter, a Eurocopter AS350 B3 and a tiny little Schweizer 269C. There are close, medium and distant pass bys and fly-overs along with a start up and some hovering.

Sound Effects Monkey Release Cartoon Props
Cartoon Props is a toolbox of recordings designed for you to be able to use to create your own cartoon and comic effects. Included are whistles, horns, boings, farts, percussion instruments, and more.
You’re probably asking, “Why does the world need another cartoon library?” While researching this library, they discovered a few issues with most of the existing cartoon libraries. Many of them are pretty old. Often the effects are original cartoon sounds dating back to the 40’s (or earlier). While these sounds are really cool and inventive, they sound dated (and noisy). Many of the effects are pre-designed and mixed. You might find a cool whistle sound, but it is mixed into a complex effect with a boing, a zip, and a crash. Not very useful if you just need that whistle. And most cartoon libraries lack variations of their sounds. You finally find a great boing sound, but you need 5 variations of it, and you’re out of luck.
They set out to solve these issues. Their collection features individual sounds of each prop so that you can design your own complex effects (or just use them as is). they recorded multiple variations of each sound. Everything was recorded in ultra-HD 24-bit 192k resolution using a stereo pair of Sennheiser MKH800’s. The MKH800’s are extremely clean, quite and detailed modern microphones with extended high frequency response. However, we thought that part of the the appeal of cartoon sounds might be that they were recorded long ago using older equipment. To give another flavor to work with, and offer a more vintage sound, we also recorded each prop using an AEA R84 ribbon mic. You get to choose the flavor for each sound; ultra-clean modern style or warm (less detailed) vintage style).
