LEWITT has launched the CONNECT 2 audio interface, described as offering a high degree of user-friendliness and powerful features for creators who value quality sound production. We have the details.
The CONNECT 2 is equipped with a touch-based user interface that enables users to control various settings through intuitive touch-based capacitive controls. LEWITT says this interface includes a mute function for each channel, ensuring precise audio control. The touch wheel at the center of the device allows for adjusting microphone and instrument input levels, as well as headphone and monitor volumes. Each input and output can be muted directly on the device, enhancing user convenience.
LEWITT highlights that CONNECT 2's Autosetup feature utilizes the integrated tools like Clipguard, Denoiser, and Compressor to automatically find optimal settings, aiming to deliver sensational sound quality effortlessly. The interface offers three distinct preamp settings—Clear, Warm, and Vivid—to cater to various audio recording needs and preferences.
The audio interface also includes a Hi-Z instrument input that LEWITT says is capable of capturing guitar performances with precision. The differential input is designed to accommodate a range of guitar types, from vintage single coils to modern active humbuckers. An automatic gain setting feature simplifies the process of achieving the perfect input level.
For monitoring, CONNECT 2 offers Zero-Ohm headphone outputs, which LEWITT claims retain accurate frequency response of headphones during recording and mixing. A high-impedance mode is also available for those using studio-grade high-impedance headphones.
Personalization features include customizable LED colors, allowing users to adjust the visual display to suit their setup and personal brand. The interface’s loopback feature facilitates easy capture of computer playback audio, ideal for streaming, recording samples, or online communication.
Included with the CONNECT 2 is LEWITT’s CONTROL CENTER software, providing comprehensive digital control over the interface’s features. The package also includes licenses for Steinberg Cubase LE and Steinberg Cubasis LE, and is compatible with Mac, PC, and iOS platforms.
The CONNECT 2 is priced at $199 / €199 / £169 and is available globally from the 7th of May, 2024. For further details, users can visit the LEWITT website.
