The run-up for NAMM 2020 has been a busy time for Avid as they are announcing a new 1U interface based on the MTRX, Thunderbolt 3 Chassis solutions for HDX cards, folder tracks for Pro Tools as well as updates for AvidPlay and Avid Link.
Pro Tools MTRX Studio 1U Interface Coming Soon From Avid
The Pro Tools MTRX Studio delivers high-quality I/O, extensive routing possibilities, and premium monitoring all in one audio interface, enabling you to consolidate multiple devices in your signal chain. From recording and monitoring to routing audio across multiple rooms and devices, tuning speakers, creating monitor profiles, and folding downmixes, it’s the ideal centrepiece for professional music and audio post facilities of all sizes.
Declutter your studio by connecting all your gear to a single 1U device. Route any input to any output. Customize monitor profiles with integrated speaker tuning for any setup. And outfit sound design, sound editing, and smaller mix rooms for Dolby Atmos, enabling immersive mixing decisions to take place at any point in the post-production process.
Thunderbolt 3 Solutions For Pro Tools HDX Coming Soon From Avid
It would seem that the reports that HDX was dead and buried may have been somewhat premature. At NAMM 2020 Avid is announcing two Thunderbolt 3 chassis solutions for Pro Tools HDX cards as well as a range of packages built around their new Thunderbolt 3 chassis.
These new products announced as ‘coming soon’ will mean that Pro Tools HDX will finally be Thunderbolt 3-compatible once they are released.
If you already own an HDX card, then you can upgrade your system with the Thunderbolt 3 chassis, and take advantage of tapping into a range of Thunderbolt 3 equipped computers. No more Thunderbolt adaptors.
Folder Tracks Coming Soon To Avid Pro Tools 2020 - The Most Requested Feature
At NAMM 2020, Avid will be demonstrating the most asked-for new feature request - Folder Tracks. Although you will be able to see Folders Tracks on the Avid Booth, Avid tell us that is is another feature that is ‘coming soon’ but it is good to know that it is on the way.
There will be two kinds of Folder Tracks, the first will be a basic folder track and the second will have routing capabilities so that will operate like an Aux Track. all intended to enable you to arrange, consolidate and route tracks intuitively. Because the routing folder tracks work like Aux tracks you can include FXs chains that will also affect everything in the folder track.
Avid Link And AvidPlay Update Releases Announced At NAMM 2020
Avid has released updates for both Avid Link and Avid Play to coincide with the first day of NAMM 2020.
