We take an already well recorded and tuned vocal and begin by adding some subtle stereo doubling to thicken it with a smooth, lush, chorus-like veneer. Next, we alter the phrasing and timing of a couple of words. This creates a slightly behind the beat feel, giving it a loose and relaxed mood. Next, we create harmonies for another section. And finally, some of the esses in the layered vocals are softened.
