Source Elements is shortly releasing a beta of Source-Nexus for Windows, a Core Audio driver with support for AAX and VST plugins, expanding your DAW’s access to all your audio applications. You can route Source-Connect, Zoom, Skype, OBS Broadcaster and many other applications right into DAWs and NLEs like Pro Tools, Nuendo and Adobe Premiere.
What Does Source-Nexus Do?
Source-Nexus brings flexible routing capabilities to your system, makes shared physical audio paths a thing of the past and eliminates clocking issues and feedback loops.
Use it with multiple applications at the same time. For example with Source-Nexus, you can record remote voiceover from Source-Connect or Source-Connect Now directly in Final Cut or Media Composer; Playback iTunes or YouTube into Pro Tools or any other DAW, with support for up to 7.1 channel configuration instances.
With no more cables, Source-Nexus opens an entire new world for application and hardware integration for Pro audio users and the studio environment. For Pro Tools HDX or HD Native users, route to and from any hardware audio device or other applications.
Source-Nexus allows Pro Tools users to directly integrate into their DAW virtually any application, driver or audio hardware without using external cables by using the AAX plug-in. Allows the OS or hardware assigned to external applications or devices to record and or be recorded to/from your Pro Tools timeline and or mixer.
Source-Nexus allows VO Artists to consolidate your various communication systems and external apps into one clean Pro Tools or other DAW template where everything you need is a button push or mouse click away. It is especially useful with Chrome-based audio codecs such as Source-Connect Now or other communications packages such as Skype, FaceTime and many many more.
Musicians and composers can route synths and generators into Pro Tools and other DAWs directly without requiring additional cables.
In a post-production environment, for anyone looking to set up an integrated template where various applications feed in and out of Pro Tools like a cable-free virtual studio within their computer, Source-Nexus makes setups cleaner, simpler, less expensive and more mobile. You can even use it to send audio to the built-in speaker or external speakers for a real-world "small speaker system" to check your mixes.
Source Elements have recently announced a number of updates to some of their products including Source-Connect and Source Nexus Pro as well as a sneak peak at a new version of Source-Live v3.0 with a video option.
