It would seem Apple is taking to discounting Mac computers to improve sales during the holiday quarter, with an offer that hasn’t been seen for at least 5 years. If you are in the market for 5 or more Apple computers, you need to read this article.
With the company warning in the last revenue call to investors that sales would be down on what would be expected in this holiday quarter, with revenue from Mac sales declining “substantially”, as a result of not having any new Macs to announce this side of the holiday, it would seem that Apple is pulling out of the bag a rarely used enticement to bolster sales and lift that revenue figure. However it may also be that Apple is looking to clear out its inventory of M1 powered MBPs ahead on the new M2 Pro and M2 Max powered variants expected to be announced in March 2023.
A “Very Special Mac Campaign”
We understand that Apple is describing this new offer as a “very special campaign” with Apple sales team uncharacteristically reaching out to small businesses pushing this promotion.
Until December 24th 2022, businesses that buy 5 to 24 MacBook Pro laptops in any combination of specs and screen sizes will get an 8% discount. Buying 25 or more will come with the full 10% discount. Normally these type of discounts are only offered to the biggest Apple customers, so this offer to small and medium businesses is very rare.
We also understand that Apple is also promoting its existing trade-in offers for Mac computers alongside this offer.
If you are looking to spend some money on multiple new Apple laptops then this might be the best opportunity some some time to come.
