In June 2020 we ran a competition to win one of five copies of LiquidSonics’ amazing new Cinematic Rooms reverb. The first prize was a copy of Cinematic Rooms Professional with four runner-up prizes of a copy of Cinematic Rooms Standard Edition.
The lucky winners have been announced. they are:
First Prize - Cinematic Rooms Professional
Lincoln Sharpe
Lincoln works in post production from his studio in Victoria Australia.
I’ve been mixing sound for film and television now for more than 20 years. At the start of my career I was fortunate to land a full time job at Channel 7 Melbourne, Australia where I learnt my trade mixing on-air promotions and sport packages on a Fairlight MFX2, progressing to Pro Tools in 2003.
Working for myself for the past 10 years I have designed and built my own studio and continue to work for other post studios as well as live tv work. Recently I started working at the Victorian College of the Arts Film School as a re-recording mixer for the next generation of film makers which is really enjoyable. I can’t wait for my next film project as after trying a demo of Cinematic Rooms Professional I am really impressed by how natural and real it sounds.
Thanks very much Liqudisonics and Production Expert!
Runner Up Prizes - Cinematic Rooms Standard Edition
Ed Railton
I've been working in audio post production in London for the last 15 years, moving my way up the ranks from a runner initially to senior dubbing mixer.
I currently work at Coda Post Production, where we have a team of 6 mixers working on a wide range of projects from radio commercials to independent feature films.
I've heard great things about Cinematic Rooms and I look forward to using it in upcoming projects.
As you can see I’ve grown a big beard whilst working from home during lockdown! Looking forward to getting back into work/proper studios.
Jez Spencer
I've been working in post production for over 25 years, working across all genres. I won a BAFTA for best sound factual in 2011, and last year I mixed the Oscar nominated documentary For Sama. For most of my career I've worked in Soho post facilities, starting as a runner and working my way up to mixer.
In 2013 though, I took the plunge into the world of freelance audio. I converted my garage into a studio, and initially I had a wonderful Euphonix 5MC, which I eventually replaced with an Avid S3 and Dock which is what I'm currently using. I work regularly on S4's and S6's but I never feel hindered by the S3 and Dock combination. Avid have done such a great job with the functionality of them and the more recently released S1's look great too. For someone in my position they really are incredible tools to have at your disposal.
Along with my Genelec GLM monitoring, I have all I need to work comfortably from home, which with the ever increasing broadband speeds is something I can see happening even more in the future. I've mixed shows for most of the major UK channels from home and I'm adding new clients all the time. Recently, I replaced my Avid Omni with a Focusrite Red 16Line and can now work in Dolby Atmos at home.
Alan Sallabank’s excellent Dolby Atmos videos have been a superb source of information when I was setting it up and I'd advise anyone doing the same to watch them. Many thanks to Alan and Protools Expert for getting the videos out there! I recently composed my first movie score, so this reverb is going to be a great asset for both my music and post work in stereo, surround and now Atmos, in Protools, Nuendo or Ableton.
I've been following Pro Tools Expert for many years and it really is a great resource for anyone working in music or post so keep up the great work and thanks so much for this amazing reverb!
Simon Wilkinson
I run Boomtown Studio / London Voice over Studio, a Pro Tools HDX equipped recording facility in West London specialising in both music and, yes, voiceover! As for myself, I'm a published composer, musician, music producer, voice over artist and voice producer who started out teaching myself recording technology using a humble Portastudio, an Atari and a DIY spring reverb!
Cinematic rooms will undoubtedly slot in very comfortably with my Pro Tools system and be wonderfully handy in both music and voice over production to create those sometimes elusive special ambiences to which we aspire. Light years away from my DIY spring “boing" machine…..
Luke Fellingham
My name is Luke Fellingham and I run a recording studio in Brighton, England. I record and produce music for a number of local artists and also work on albums created from live event recordings. Whatever I’m working on, there are always elements that benefit from the addition of great sounding ambience. I’m looking forward to using Cinematic Rooms to help make this happen.
