4 months after the initial release Apple has started stocking the US Apple Refurb Store with Apple refurbished Mac Pro 7,1 computers with typical savings of around 15%, which on a high-value computer like the Mac Pro 2019 is a significant amount of money.
A Typical Example
At the time of writing one of the Mac Pro machines in Apple’s US Refurb store is a 12-Core version. Here is the spec…
3.3GHz 12‑core Intel Xeon W processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.4GHz
48GB (6x8GB) of DDR4 ECC memory
Radeon Pro 580X with 8GB of GDDR5 memory
1TB SSD1 storage
Stainless steel frame with feet
Price - $6,539.00
If you go into the normal Apple Store and select the same spec the price comes out at $7,699.00 which is a saving of $1,160 or 15%.
Currently, there are 11 Mac Pro 2019 computers in the US Refurb Store ranging from the base 8-Core model though to a Mac Pro 3.2GHz 16-core Intel Xeon W, 192GB of RAM, 8TB SSD, Two Radeon Pro Vega II Duo graphics cards and an Apple Afterburner, normal price 26,399.00 - Refurb price $22,439.00, giving a saving of $3960 or 15%.
Don’t forget that Apple computers bought on the Apple Refurb Store are eligible for Applecare too, which is not always the case for refurbished Apple Mac computers.
So if you are in the market for a new Mac Pro 2019, check the Apple refurb Store before you press the Buy It Now button.
