In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert team member Julian Rodgers demonstrates how to move markers along with clips in Pro Tools.
Markers Ruler
The memory locations in Pro Tools are really powerful but their most popular use - as markers are quite limited. For a long time I've wished there were multiple marker rulers, there are in Media Composer, why not in Pro Tools? Another feature common in video editors is clip markers, where the marker is tied to the clip rather than a timeline position so if the clip is moved the marker moves with the clip.
Sync Points
Sync points can be used as clip markers but they don't really work the same way as markers so while they can help, they aren't really an ideal solution.
Copying an pasting can include markers but it is necessary to make sure the edit selection includes the marker ruler both during the copy and the paste operations. Watch the free video to see this in action.
