After some sneaky pics doing the rounds and rumours abounding (which we feel sure Roland would have been happy about), Roland has unveiled their new TR-08 and SH-01 redux of the classic Roland SH101 synth and TR808 Rhythm Composer.
Both the TR-08 and SH-01A are digital takes of the originals; this is not to say they are bad, simply different. Roland is taking advantage of the things that digital offers such as lower power consumption.
Other than that significant architectural difference, they are as near as dammit button for button and knob for knob the same.

Wolfgang Palm, the inventor of the legendary PPG, has unveiled the details of his latest baby the PPG iOS Infinite. Infinite is an iOS synthesizer with as they say "completely morphable sounds."
Wolfgang Palm says; "This has always been my dream. A system which can reproduce all kinds of sounds and transform them into a universal set of parameters. Thus all these sounds are completely morphable."
Korg's Gadget, the iOS and Mac synth creation app, has been updated.
