Physical Modelling isn't new, companies like Roland, Yamaha Korg, and Nord have been some of the companies to use the technology over the years in various synths and pianos.
Physical Audio hopes to harness the technology to give synth lovers another tool in their sonic palette with the Derailer plug-in and for those wanting to know more, there is a public beta that is free to download. This is what they say;
Audio Damage has announced Phosphor 2 which they tell us is a complete reworking of their alphaSyntauri clone, a vintage digital additive synth from the early 80s. The V-Collection from French software and hardware wizards Arturia has earned a deserved reputation as the definitive all-in-one package of software virtualisations of classic synthesizers and vintage keyboards. Not only is it more complete than ever, but until July 10, 2017, it has been deeply discount to what we think is an almost absurd price of US $249 (it normally costs $499).
Modular synth enthusiasts are, by definition, obsessed with hardware. However, if there's one software virtual modular synth platform that gets their attention, It's Softube Modular. Beginning with virtualisations of Doepfer modules, it went on to include spot-on emulations of modules from Intelljel as well as a plethora of its own creative and utilitarian modules including step sequencers, MIDI-to-CV conversion, and much more.

Brainworx, have developed a number of Mid/Side mixing tools, and the bx_panEQ has been designed as the next-level spatial equaliser intended to change the way we sculpt and shape stereo tracks.
Watch the video to learn how the H-Delay filtering and LoFi controls sound and how to set these controls to achieve analog delay character. You will also hear how the feedback control can add tension to the synth track in the example.
Waves GTR is commonly used for guitar effects however, it is also a very powerful and creative tool that can be used for other elements in a mix. This tutorial starts off with an overdrive pedal in slot 1, Lay’D in slot 2, a delay in slot 3 and the reverb in slot 4 with different elements being mixed together to sit a synth track in the mix.
In this free tutorial, you will learn how to use the MIDI functionality in Avid's Pro Subharmonic plug-in to create tracking sub bass. Instead of the sub bass synthesis responding to the audio input, the plug-in tracks the pitch of incoming midi data.
In this free tutorial you will learn how to use the main controls in the Monofilter plug-in by Nugen Audio to centre sub bass frequencies in stereo keyboard tracks. Watch to hear examples of how Monofilter can easily focus sub bass in Synth and Rhode tracks while retaining the mids and high stereo image.
In this free synth video tutorial, you will learn how to add stereo width to mono synth tracks using the Stereoizer plug-in by Nugen Audio.
