In this series of videos from the team at UK pro audio retailer KMR, synth specialist Tom Lewis shows us around the Buchla Music Easel.
In the 3rd of this 4 part series, Tom starts off by talking about the Buchla 218 touch-sensitive capacitance keyboard which along with playing notes can also control portamento, octave switching and has a built-in arpeggiator. The keyboard is also able to control tone depending on how much of your finger is in contact with the key its self. This feature can be used a number of ways and Tom shows us a couple of these.
Tom then goes on to talk about the Random Voltage Source which in "Buchla Land" is a very powerful thing. Tom shows how the RVS can be used to make some very interesting patches and amazing sounds.
