This release, which doesn’t include any new features addresses a couple of issues in Pro Tools 2023.12. Although it was released in 2023, because it is a ‘point, point’ release (i.e. it is an update to a previous ‘point’ release it is a 2023 version.
The issues addressed are:
Dolby Atmos Workflows
An issue was discovered in Pro Tools 2023.12.0 when bouncing Dolby Atmos WAV ADM BWF or offline re-renders through Pro Tools. Artifacts could be intermittently introduced into the bounced audio. This issue is now addressed in Pro Tools 2023.12.1. (PT-317207)
Doing an online bounce to a WAV ADM with a session delay over 8,000 samples will no longer cause Pro Tools to hang. (PT-316860)
Pro Tools Hardware
AAE -1164 error is no longer encountered when updating Pro Tools | HDX or Pro Tools | HD Native firmware (PT-317106)
Note: Pro Tools | HD Native may require an additional reboot to be seen by Pro Tools after the firmware update.
For all Pro Tools HDX and HD Native users:
HD Driver 2023.6 and later is not compatible with older computers such as the Mac Pro 5,1, or any computer running macOS Mojave (10.14.x), and will result in Pro Tools with HDX or HD Native hardware failing to launch with a -6001 error. For these configurations, please revert to HD Driver 2023.3 which can be found in the Download Center
