Talking Point
We talk a lot about the usefulness of mixing using faders as opposed to mixing with a mouse. The subject today takes that a little further and examines exactly what those faders are doing. Mixer or control surface?
This isn’t an either or choice but if it was and you had to use one exclusively would you mix on a control surface or a mixer?
Would your answer be different If I had said record and mix?
What is the best system you have experienced which tries to bring DAW control or mix automation to an analogue mixer?
Digital Mixers are largely overlooked in music mixing. Are we missing out?
Practical considerations aside, if you could have your ideal mixing environment, what would it be like?
