Dante has been the first choice for AoIP for some years, with easy distribution of audio across networks being more accessible than ever using the hardware you already have. Dante has been particularly relevant to audio professionals since the explosion of interest in mixing for Dolby Atmos as Dante is a useful part of many mixers’ Atmos workflows.
Dante Virtual Soundcard is a particularly important part of this ecosystem as it allows any computer to playout or receive up to 64 channels of audio via its ethernet port. With this update, recently announced by Audinate, native support for Apple Silicon and Windows 11 machines is now available meaning a new computer doesn’t have to introduce issues on the Dante Network.
If you’re unfamilar with Dante Virtual Soundcard here is a brief video from Audinate. We recommend you also check out Dante Via too. This complementary product is an essential part of the Dante ecosystem.
