FabFilter make some of the most innovative plugins out there. Some plugin companies make recreations of classic hardware, others make processors which do new things which previously weren’t possible or in come cases thought of. What FabFilter do so well is make conventional tools like EQs, Compressors and De-essers and make them faster and easier to use without reference to how things have been done in the past. The fact that their flagship product is an EQ tells you everything you need to know about how they are trying to make the things we do every day that little bit easier without imposing limitations.
If you haven’t tried FabFilter Plugins yet check out some of our past experiences below:
iOS and Apple Silicon
Unlike many plugin companies FabFilter offer all their products in iOS versions. If, like me you’ve never used an iOS device for serious audio work you might wonder why this is of interest to you. Well if you are a Mac user then Apple’s recent announcement of a migration from Intel processors to Apple Silicon, the same architecture as used in current iOS devices, then if you are likely to be replacing your Mac in the relatively near future it might well be an Apple Silicon machine. As FabFilter already have iOS versions of their plug-ins they are likely to have working versions of their plug-ins very promptly. If you use FabFilter they are a safe bet to be Apple Silicon ready.
