MicroPitch from Eventide is a fine resolution pitch shifter, designed for subtle tone fattening, stereo widening, simple to set up delays and special effects.
MicroPitch is the latest incarnation of an iconic effect originated by Eventide in the 1970s with the H910 and H949 Harmonisers. It was further immortalised by the H3000 a few years later.
MicroPitch takes you beyond the run-of-mill stereo spread effects of simple pitch shifting plugins. It goes above and beyond by allowing you to mix in detuned and delayed versions of your source. Combined with the built-in modulation and feedback controls, it opens up the range of depth and dimension possible. And this is all achieved with just a few intuitive knobs.
I find it fun, simple, and creatively stimulating. I like that it is simple to learn and use. The parameter ranges are generally set up for subtle effects but can be pushed into special FX territory when needed. In this video, see and hear it in action on a variety of sources.
