Correcting vocal performances is a tricky business. It’s easy to fall into the trap of “too perfect” time and pitch correction. But does this sound good? It almost never does. The real art of vocal correction is fixing what is necessary, while still retaining a degree of human performance and imperfection. This is rarely achieved using automatic macro style adjustments. It is painstaking work when working with multiple doubles, background, and harmony tracks, and this becomes a very time consuming process.
Or does it? Revoice Pro, from Synchro Arts, has a unique approach to these situations that allows for easy adjustments that affect multiple tracks simultaneously. Their Audio Performance Transfer (APT functions work on multiple tracks all at once, and are also easy to tweak. Best of all, the tweaks are automatically applied to all the processed tracks.
Check out this video, where I correct some vocals using an APT, realise the corrections are too “tight”, and then proceed to “loosen” them up with just one or two mouse clicks.
