The new Universal Audio LUNA recording system has for many been the surprise of NAMM 2020.
LUNA is a tight integration between Universal Audio Apollo thunderbolt hardware and new software to give users a near-zero latency recording, mixing and production experience with an analogue-style workflow. To summarise, a Universal Audio DAW. You can read more about Universal Audio LUNA here
There have been mixed reactions across the music production community with some thinking LUNA is genius and others thinking its lunacy (sorry we couldn’t resist the pun).
Is LUNA new or have we seen this before, some are arguing that Pro Tools was in fact this very concept with its tight integration of software and hardware, do they have a fair point?
On the other hand, some think the concept of LUNA offering a more simplified and complete recording and mixing system that offers analogue-style sound and workflows is what the music community has been waiting for.
We wanted to gauge how the community feel about LUNA with a poll and encourage you also to leave comments. Please vote and let us know your thoughts.
