Michael Stavola, an audio enthusiast from Oakland, CA, is convinced that someone on the planet cares that DAWs may sound different, despite having no proof to back it up.
Furthermore, he is convinced that the fact that no one cares about DAWs possibly sounding different is a cover-up and conspiracy that goes to the very highest levels of the American government. In a recent post on the audio enthusiast forum MOREAUDIOSHITTOBUY.NET he wrote; "Of course all DAWs sound different, the fact that no one is debating this with me is a sign of a conspiracy to equal who shot JFK, the death of Elvis and Area 51."
Professor David Klieman of Washington State University says conspiracy theorists are becoming more prevalent with the rise of the internet.
Speaking specifically about Stavola's DAW theory he said; "This one is interesting as it presents a double issue; he can't prove DAWs sound different and neither can he prove that there's a single person on the planet who cares about it." He continued; "The sense that no one is listening and people are more interested in watching a video of a dog taking a dump makes him feel powerless, this is often the motivation for conspiracy theorists."
When Stavola was asked why he thought DAWs sounding different is important, he said; "I haven't considered that it was just that having asked 'What The Best DAW Is?' 273 times in different Facebook groups I was tired of being ignored."
Klieman of Washington State thinks he has the answer to helping Stavola; "It's usually a case of using the software to finish a song or getting some friends, even better a combination of both is probably the solution."
