To help celebrate their shiny new website and the release of six new music production and post-production bundles, we ran a prize draw competition with the support of our friends at NUGEN Audio offering the chance win either a NUGEN Producer Bundle worth $499 or a NUGEN Post Bundle worth $899. We can announce that the 2 winners are Matt Roser and Lucien Palmer.
Matt Roser - Winner Of The Nugen Audio Producer Bundle
My audio background was in live audio for the first 2 decades of my career until a life-changing event forced me in a different direction. For the last 10 years, I have been focused on the studio side of audio learning new methodologies, theories & workflows. There's much more crossover these days due to the rapidly evolving digital landscape, not really demarcated lines with people crossing often.
My Pro Tools Ultimate setup has evolved into a hybrid system with console summing & analogue hardware should the client have the budget & time, otherwise it's all ITB. My client base is mainly music with genre's the likes of prog rock, jazz, punk, pop, folk, EDM & many others. Post services are also provided, you could say I'll take on pretty much anything.
I've been a fan of NUGEN products for many years respecting their non-invasive treatment of audio by preserving transients & keeping unwanted artefacts to a minimum. One of the best limiters out there, ISL2, will now take pride of place at the end of my master buss chain. MasterCheck & Visualizer will sit alongside giving me the confidence in my loudness targets & potential codec problems.
In many, if not all, music projects it's of the utmost importance to have a coherent & solid bass of which the Monofilter will now make a breeze. Stereo field is where you can take your mixes to the next level, panning to help with masking frequencies in busy mixes & giving unique identities to different instruments and or parts/breakdowns. Here the SEQ-S, Stereoplacer & Stereoizer are leading the way. I am looking forward to trying the Stereoplacer as it sounds groundbreaking. Finally, SigMod looks like a universal toolbox, that I will use heavily. Thank you NUGEN & Pro Tools Expert, from a long time fan.
Lucien Palmer - Winner Of The Nugen Audio Post Bundle
I am a Re-recording Mixer and Sound Supervisor at Toolshed Audio Post in Los Angeles, California. I recently built a new dub stage featuring JBL Cinema system for theatrical and broadcast mixing with deliverables in 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos.
As a current user of Nugen’s SEQ-S, I’m aware of their fantastic tools. Their EQ is the only plug-in that allows me to quickly take a snapshot of the EQ curve of one track, and invert and notch it out of another track. It helps my dialog stand out above the crowd. Literally.
I’ve been looking closely at their Post Production Bundle. I’m excited about their 7.1 channel support and plan to add the 3D extension for overhead channels. Since I almost exclusively use HDX plug-ins, I appreciate the added HDX support for a number of their plug-ins. I’m very much looking forward to using their tools on upcoming Atmos mixes.
