The AX32 has always been at the very top of the pile when it comes to professional conversion and routing. The SPQ speaker processing card extends the new features introduced as part of the Pro | Mon option for AX32 which when paired with the DAD MOM monitor controller makes the AX32 a comprehensive solution for conversion, routing, monitor control and speaker correction.
What Is Pro | Mon?
Pro | Mon is an optional licence which extends the capabilities of the DADman software. The Pro | Mon Monitor Control option enables the AX32 or DX32 to operate as an audio signal processor providing high resolution signal summing and low latency routing of monitor signals. AX32 has as well an option for speaker correction EQ and bass management.
The new version of DADman introduces support for the new SPQ correction card, it also adds sample rate conversion on MADI inputs and updates Dante firmware to v4.0 which brings Dante Domain Manager support.
What Can The SPQ DSP Speaker Processor Card Do?
The SPQ DSP Speaker Processor card is a hardware option for the AX32. It brings comprehensive EQ and bus management to the, already very capable, AX32. It was designed to strike the right balance between flexibility and ease of use.
- 128 Channels @48kHz
- 64 Channels @96kHz
- 16 Channels @ Sample rates up to 384kHz, making the SPQ DSP Speaker Processor card suitable for DSD and high res workflows.
- 1024 filters assignable across all channels - typically 8 filters per channel. Maximum of 16 filters on any individual channel.
Analysis is done using third party tools, commonly Smaart. The correction curve is then input manually using the filters. This isn't an automated solution.
Delays on channels - up to 150 ms and a global delay for video sync.
