Our friends at Nugen Audio have released a Dolby E module as the latest option for their AMB Audio Management Batch processor modular software and Paul Tapper from Nugen Audio explained to Mike Thornton on the HHB stand at BVE in London why Nugen Audio has developed a module around a redundant format.
What Is AMB?
The Audio Management Batch processor modular software (AMB) is designed to improve workflow efficiency for a range of different tasks. AMB also has a number of modules including the AMB Loudness, DynApt® or Upmix modules and now with the new AMB Dolby E Module, post-production facilities can natively batch process Dolby E files, reducing delivery times considerably for loudness measurement and correction, dynamics processing and upmixing. The facility to decode the Dolby E format to linear PCM wave files further supports workflow versatility. The AMB Dolby E Module also provides full support for Dolby Metadata and Dolby E Program configurations.
JC Morizur, Sr. Director of Pro Products and Solutions at Dolby Laboratories told us...
We're pleased that NUGEN's new AMB Dolby Module offers content creators scalable, batch processing of content in Dolby formats. There is increasing need for our users to process large numbers of files under tight time restrictions. AMB will help our customers meet those demands.
AMB is available for Windows and OSX. Each functional module (Loudness, Upmix, DynApt, MX, ProRes and new Dolby module) is priced at $999. However, until June 30th, 2018 the Dolby E module comes with a free AMB Queue Expansion module (worth $499).
