10 years ago this year Russ Hughes started the AIR Users blog, which morphed into Pro Tools Expert in 2012. To celebrate our 10-year anniversary we ran a competition with a Pro Audio gear and software prize pot worth over $30,000. One of the prizes was a bundle from our friends at Sonarworks.
The competition closed on December 31st 2018 and we can announce that the winner is Nathan Avraham
“I'm Nathan Avraham, I'm a 22 year old producer and mix engineer (although I try to remain wary of the term 'engineer') from The Netherlands. Currently I'm finishing my last year in an International Music Management course, I'm applying what I learned on the business side of the industry to my creative side and I'm determined to make a career out of this. For the last 8 years I've developed myself in mixing and producing music, and 2019 is the year where I'm finally going to release some of my own production work for the first time, which is exciting and scary at the same time. When I started to record and mix other people's music a couple of years ago, the Pro-Tools Expert site was of great help, I just started out in Pro-Tools and nobody around could really teach me how to use it. I often found myself looking on the Pro-Tools Expert website for help, and what fascinated me was that even the most boring subjects like "common error codes" get attention, purely to serve the struggling community. This showed me that this platform is about love instead of making money. I'm very thankful for the times that the team helped me out with videos and articles, but also in podcasts and through email. I'm sure that I will be more confident about my work with the Sonarworks Premium bundle, I think it will make a great addition to my already DIY treated bedroom studio. Huge thank you for the Expert team and Sonarworks!”
