Our friends at Plugin Alliance have released a new plug-in for upmixing. This takes a new approach to a very common issue - how do you best make a mono signal wider? There are quite a few techniques which can be deployed using standard tools like using different EQ settings or short delays to introduce a pseudostereo effect but the Schoeps Mono Upmix plug-in takes a different approach and offers greater control and realism.
What Does Mono Upmix Do?
Stereo Upmix generates stereo and even LCR channels from any mono signal by adaptively extracting the diffuse sound in the mono input signal to create an upmix signal. As the diffuse sound should always be reproduced decorrelated on different stereo channels, the up-mixed signal sounds more natural than the original mono track. Furthermore, it’s possible to control the perceived source distance and panning position by generating early reflections.
Another plug-in which achieves similar similar application as the Brainworx bx_stereomaker, but a very different approach with a totally different sound.
If you own bx_stereomaker or the Schoeps Mono Upmix plugin you can get the other one for just $49! Login to your plugin alliance account and you will see your special price.
