Two of the greatest features in Logic Pro X are Apple Loops, and the ability to easily convert them to EXS24 Instruments. Convert to New Sampler Track is one of my favourite features and a powerful way to use the software sampler in this DAW to dramatically reshape loops.
Use this feature to take any loop from the Logic Pro X library, 3rd party packaged loops, or looped samples off of records, and chop them up in the EXS 24 sampler. Once in the EXS 24 instrument format, with the chopped up region automatically mapped and easily triggered on individual keys, it's simple and fun to create new music parts for your music productions.
My favourite thing to import into the sampler is drum loops so that I can get processed and mastered kicks, snares, hi hats and percussion elements etc instantly mapped across the keyboard . It's then a snap to create new beats for Urban, EDM and Pop tracks that I work on for artist(s).
Using the Audio to Sampler feature allows you to create quickly, produce and remix a vast amount of sounds for today's artist(s) and bands. In this video I'll walk you through the process using one of Logic's stock Apple Loops.
