In this interview, shot in the Steampunk demo suite at Jigsaw24 in London's Soho, Pro Tools Expert Technical Editor James Ivey talks to Rich Nevens from Avid. Rich is currently the Director of Strategic Solutions which he explains means he looks after customer focused solutions in mainly the control surface area of the business.

Although originally from the North East of England Rich studied and has spent most of his working life in the US. First trying to seek fame and fortune as a musician then moving into the more technical side of music joining Euphonix in 1991 and then moving to Avid (then Digidesign) in 2004.
James and Rich talk about the Avid S6 control console and how some of the features and working methods that started with their flagship product are filtering down through the S3 and Dock to the Artist Series of controllers right down to the free Pro Tools Control App for iPad.
Rich goes on to talk about how with ever increasing track counts in movie dub sessions the Avid S6 workflow is making dealing with these massive sessions as easy as it can be using features like VCA Masters and Spill Zones.
