AAX isn’t as well catered for as AU and VST when it comes to virtual instruments but there are free AAX instruments so if you want to explore further than Xpand2 and Boom there are tools out there which can definitely help you and your productions. here are 5 to check out.
Blindfold EQ is an EQ which forces you to use your ears. The controls are all labelled but don’t have any markings on their scales. No frequency markings so you have to find the right frequency using the only sense which matters - I don’t have to say which one that is do I?
In this week's Friday Free Plug-in, we are featuring Son EQ from Sonimus. SonEQ is a digital equalizer which combines elements from various vintage equalisers and combines them into one. SonEQ has 3 bands, bass, middle and treble and a preamp section for added colour.
In this week's Friday Free Plug-in, we are featuring MJUC jr. A variable-tube compressor with a big sound.
This week’s Free Plugin is Cassette Transport, a free, tape start/stop effect of the kind previously only available to Pro Tools users via Vari-Fi, which is an AudioSuite plugin. Cassette Transport offers all the noise and mechanical clunks of a cassette player, which you can turn down if you wish, along with tape start/stop effects up to 8 seconds or tempo syncable up to 3 bars.
This week’s Free Plugin is an oldie but a goodie. Thump from Metric halo takes the old technique of layering a sub tone under a kick drum and makes it so much better. A sub bass synth triggered by audio. Two tones with independent pitch envelopes so you get all the bass without the “one note sub” effect. We love it.
This week’s Free Plugin is a a bitcrusher effect plug-in with a distinctive legacy. Based on the Sega Genesis sound chip, the 8-bit decimation is inherited from the FM synth’s PCM playback feature, packed in a simple and compact effect unit. And it’s free!
