Tip - Toggle Waveform And Volume Views In Pro Tools

In this free video tutorial, you will see how to toggle Waveform and Volume views in Pro Tools.

Simple, But If You Don't Already Know It...

This video is in response to a question from Facebook, While we don't respond to Facebook Messages, we have our support email address for that. I saw the message and it reminded me that we shouldn't assume anything is too basic to be worthy of a post. We all didn't know this once.

Toggle Views Using Minus

Using the alphanumeric minus key (i.e. not the one on the number pad if you have one) it is possible to toggle between the waveform and volume playlist views on Audio tracks. On Instrument and MIDI tracks this keystroke toggles between Note and Velocity view and in Aux, Master and VCA tracks it has no effect.

Other Related Keystrokes Using Minus

A related keystroke is using Control and Shift (Start and Shift on PC) with Minus to toggle the Clip Gain Line, the same modifiers with Plus toggle the Clip Gain Info view.

Watch the free video to see this in action.
