Some of you will be making New Year's resolutions today; they will range from everything to get in shape to write a hit. My experience of those two is that the latter is easier than the former.
But joking apart, I'm not good at resolutions, I am better at reflection. What I mean by this is that I find it easier to see the mistakes made and hopefully learn than I am at coming up with a plan and sticking to it.
So what was that one thing in 2016 that I think I could have done better?
I failed to trust my instincts enough.
I failed to trust them about people, opportunities, my studio, gear choices, songs, mixes, to name a few.
So a tip for 2017. If you have a creative bone in your body then trust your instincts.
I'm not sure why I felt the need to write this... let's put it down to instinct.
