In this free video Paul Drew looks at the TE-100 EQ from Lindell Audio and Plugin Alliance and takes a dull sounding guitar that is hidden in the mix to a bright punchy tone that really pops out of the speakers.
Paul starts off by applying filters to clean up the signal then boosting the high end. After that Paul concentrates on the high mids by applying a very broad smooth boost between 600 Hz to 9 kHz.
The original UE-100 EQs are extremely rare, This all-tube minimum phase EQ used six discrete filter modules to create a collection of band-pass filters that could create dynamic curves for any application from source mixing to vocal tracking to mastering. This is a fantastic sounding eq that is hard to make sound bad.
