Mix master and friend of the blog Andrew Scheps has announced that the gear he packed into crates from his US Punkerpad West studio is now part of Monnow Valley Studios in the UK.

"Well, the cat's out of the bag! Punkerpad West is now Punkerpad UK!!! I'm really really happy to announce that all my analog goodness now resides at Monnow Valley Studio.
I've spent 20 years rescuing gear from studios forced to shut their doors (and random eBay auctions), but for the last two years it's all just been sitting in my studio in Los Angeles since I'm not using it to mix anymore. In January I put it all in a sea container and we've spent the last month assembling, wiring and installing. Monnow Valley is one of the best sounding live rooms I've ever worked in, and the people and setting are amazing. I couldn't be happier with where the equipment has ended up. I'm hoping it will be so busy I won't even be able to book it myself!"

"Monnow Valley Studio is excited to announce that we're now a Neve studio! We have partnered up with our long term client & friend, Andrew Scheps, and have installed virtually his entire vintage studio here. The desk is a 64 channel Neve 8068 with flying faders - some of the biggest records in the world have been made on this beautiful console! From Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi, through Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Adele and Black Sabbath (little edit here - mainly to add Bon Jovi... I love Bon Jovi!!!). It sits alongside some of the most desirable outboard & mics you could ever wish to use - Andrew has collected pieces from studios including The Hit Factory & Sound City over the years. We're in the process of getting all the gear listed on the website & new photos will be up there soon too. The house has had a mammoth makeover too with new windows throughout, carpets & a lick of fresh paint. We literally finished the install yesterday... and our first session is in today. Whilst many studios are closing, we'd like everyone to know we're very much open for business & are going nowhere!!! Thank you to everyone who's worked their socks off for the last couple of weeks - and to all our clients for your support over the years. We look forward to welcoming you all back - and really showing you what we can do"
