Our friends at FabFilter have announced a new reverb plugin - FabFilter Pro-R. Watch the FabFilter teaser video with Music Producer Rik Simpson to get a quick idea what Pro-R is all about. Rik tries FabFilter Pro-R for the first time, he gives us a quick first-impressions take on Pro-R. Rik seems to be quite impressed with FabFilter Pro-R. Us guys on the Pro Tools Expert team are eager to try it for ourselves as we are all FabFilter users.
How Does FabFilter Pro-R Differ To Other Reverb Plugins?
From what we can tell FabFilter Pro-R doesn't look to be just another Reverb plugin. The video gives us a glimpse to a control called The Space knob. FabFilter say The Space knob's function is to smoothly combine room model and decay times. A second control we see in the teaser is something called The Decay Rate EQ that looks to be unique to FabFilter Pro-R. FabFilter claim this to be an industry first as it enables users to freely shape the decay rate over the frequency spectrum.
FabFilter Pro-R sounds very interesting indeed especially as Rik describes it as a Space plugin rather than a reverb.
