As promised in our story announcing the release of the Sonnox Oxford Limiter v2 with True Peak Support for AAX and other formats following the release of their Limiter v2 on the UAD platform earlier this year, Sonnox have now released the Windows version of their True peak enabled limiter for both native and AAX DSP systems.
What’s New In The Oxford Limiter v2?
True peak metering and limiting is essential for BS.1770 loudness compliance workflows and so Sonnox have redesigned their classic Oxford limiter to conform to industry standard ITU-R BS.1770-4 with inter-sample peak detection algorithm and the Threshold control for preparing material referenced to standards other than 0dBFS.
The new Plug-In is fully backwards compatible with previous versions, so your older sessions and their settings can be recalled with confidence.
The new version of the Sonnox Oxford Limiter is the same price as the old version and the upgrade is free to existing and registered users of the Native/HD-HDX Generation 5 (G5) products.
I’ve been looking for a replacement for Waves L2 for years: something transparent, that just brought the final mix up to today’s levels. At first I thought that might be the L3, but sadly both of the "L"s just batter the "L" out of the mix if hit too hard. Dabbled with others, but none stayed. Then cometh the Oxford. Oxford stays. L's fired.
Woah...it is something special. TOPS in my book, toppling the Stealth Limiter to my ears; IK was 'king for a day' then Sonnox released V2 via UAD. What took me so long.
