In this free video tutorial, Pro Tools Expert Team member Julian Rodgers looks at the SPL PassEQ plugin from Plugin Alliance. This Plug-In offers six bands of passive EQ, making it potentially very flexible. Passive EQs rely on fixed value components to offer predefined, selectable frequencies and as such can potentially always be working to their optimum performance. Well known for a pleasing sonic character and a useful amount of interdependence between the bands, the results aren't always predictable but they can be more forgiving than their more common, active counterparts.
