For this video interview, James from Pro Tools Expert traveled to Denmark to meet Sebastian Rodens, professional product manager with Dynaudio PRO. James and Sebastian talk about the history of Dynaudio, the company's product lines and the new LYD range of professional studio monitors. Sebastian lets us in on some of his ideas of what makes a great studio monitor and how to get the very best out of the new LYD range.
The LYD Range Of Personal Monitor Speakers
Building on the heritage of the industry standard BM series of near-field monitors, LYD completely refreshes and updates the segment with the latest DSP and amplifier technology, to offer producers and musicians authoritative and powerful studio monitors that still excel at low volume, while still maintaining the precision Dynaudio PRO is famous for.
Each LYD monitor speaker drive unit is powered by a state-of-the-art Class-D amplifier that features a 96kHz/24bit signal path, plus the hand-made and consistent non fatiguing drivers (all new soft-dome tweeters and trademark Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP) woofers) ensure an unerring accuracy. Finally, a DSP used in just the right way offers the option to extend or curtail the low frequency response by 10Hz where needed, while both ‘Position’ and ‘Sound Balance’ controls ensure the best possible performance for any environment.
Utmost care in selection of materials and production, combined with the industry’s most thorough and extensive testing programme allows Dynaudio PRO monitors to achieve 100 percent uniformity – not just between different pairs, but also when crossing pairs or relying on pairs in different locations. All of this makes the LYD range THE personal reference monitors - redefined
