A musical legend to many; writer, musician and producer Prince has died at 57.
It is understood that police were called to a medical emergency at his Paisley Park estate earlier today, according to the BBC and other news outlets.
Prince, was a multi-talented musical legend and his unique impact on music in the last few decades was recognised by both fans and artists alike. Few were able to match the quality of his live shows, marking him out as a hugely talented musician. His albums included 1999 and Purple Rain.
He record sales exceeded more than 100 million.

Kiss Frontman Gene Simmons summed up the thoughts of many in the industry speaking to the BBC;
"What he's done is undeniable - he carved his own road and whether the record company liked him or not he was his own guy - his body of work is undeniable."
