Our friends at Sound Radix, makers of some very cool plugins, are building up a great collection of interviews with some of their professional artists.
The latest is with Robert L. Smith, "dedicating more than three decades to a phenomenal career producing all genres of music, not to mention scoring dozens of movie soundtracks. With 402 music credits alone to his name, working with megastars from Aerosmith to Lady Gaga, most people wouldn’t match his resume in an entire lifetime – and he’s certainly not stopping yet."
However, whilst there's a lot of great technical advice shared about working in recording, producing and mixing music there's less about having an attitude to get great jobs and have a great career.
In this interview Robert shares some really solid advice and for those really wanting some guidance, it is well worth a read. Here's just one quote from the article which is a real gem...
"When people ask ‘how did it all start’, well it’s never been a thing of ‘maybe one day…’ – it’s always been that day!"
