Congratulations to Iain Roberton, a UK based mixer/engineer/producer currently working on production music for TV, film and advertising. Iain is the winner of the RSPE Audio Pro Tools 12 giveaway we covered last month. He says…
I started out as a tape-op/second engineer at Sarm Studios in the mid-90s, moved on to in-house engineering and programming, and watched the transition from recording and mixing almost solely on analog to almost completely in the box. I was a freelance mixer / engineer / protools guy for years, and I now produce (sometimes mix and very occasionally compose) production music for TV, Film and advertising.
I’ve been working with protools since V 3.4 and and it’s still by far the best tool for an engineer / mixer. I’m really excited to have won this copy of v12 especially with the new features just added in 12.2 - the higher track count, disk cacheing and VCAs are something I love from HD and it’s cool that Avid have made them available to non-HD users. I’m also really looking forward to the upcoming collaborative features as I work with composers from all around the world.
RSPE have told us they will be arranging more giveaways. Check out their site for more details.
