I wouldn’t normally ask a question and take up any of your valuable time but I’m really stuck with a Pro Tools 11 issue that has thrown me into confusion. Now Kontakt is 64bit I’m using Pro Tools 11 fully in my workflow and I am loving the new power. However I’m really confused as my “older” pro tools 10 sessions that use Kontakt instruments and recorded audio stems don’t always play back correctly.
The Kontakt instruments play out of sync to click II and audio stems. I use multichannel Kontakt and route studio drummer outputs (st2 - st3 - up to st16) to Pro Tools aux track inputs so that I can control the individual channels on my c24.
What I find is that if there are plug-ins on the inserts of the Pro Tools aux tracks, the delay compensation seems to not compensate all of the aux tracks which inputs are fed by Kontakt outputs. This is a bit frustrating. The only solution is to have the hw buffer down at 64 samples. Any more and the MIDI stuff is out of sync with the audio and click. This is why I’m confused as I’m sure I didn’t have this problem on PT 10.3.6 and using 512 samples or higher. I’ve tried using instrument tracks as well as aux tracks and get the same problem. I have delay comp on. I’ve tried bypassing plug in delay and track compensation at the bottom of the aux tracks and am unsure what these should be set to. I have a Mac Pro 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 32 GB RAM, OSX 10.8.5, Pro Tools HDX 1 - 10.3.7 and 11.0.2, Kontakt 5.3 AAX 64 bit.
I have used both Stereo outs and multi outs in Kontakt 64bit and not had an issue…..It could be something to do with having both 64 bit and 32 bit players installed at the same time in the same folder. Have you tried using the 32 bit RTAS version and not 32 bit AAX (does anyone remember if they did 32 bit AAX)?
Anyone else got any suggestions to help Daniel with this problem?
