« Zynaptiq Announce AAX Version Of Unveil Plug-in Is In The Works | Main | PPG Is Back With An Awesome iPad App »

New Mono To Stereo Plug-in From Brainworx

The new plug-in called bx_stereomaker apparently uses “frequency-optimized M/S Upmixing for vocals, guitars, loops, synths, FX & more.”

It creates a virtual S signal with analog style filters using advanced digital science. You can solo this virtual S signal! bx_stereomaker will enhance any mono signal to stereo, while allowing you to balance the center of the stereo signal and paying attention to the frequency range of your signal.

bx_stereomaker will be available individually or as a part of the Pro version of bx_rockrack! and it will be out later this month but no price has been announced yet.

This is a very interesting idea because just in MS micing, to create mono, just drop the S channel and you are left with mono. So this should be a ‘stereoizer’ type of plug-in that completely mono compatible, which is a rare breed. We will have to wait until it is out to see it it lives up to this theory.
