Hacks Are Cool - But Is It Down To Users To Fix Pro Tools?

Pro Tools track hack

The hot news of the Pro Tools track hack has lit up our site like a Christmas tree. We’re not surprised, it’s such a damned neat little feature. Who knows what else could be tweaked by users in Pro Tools, we’ve already figured out how to pimp the plug-in GUI, that’s coming soon.

However, this feature has been in the entry level version Pro Tools SE for all it’s life, now we know it isn’t that hard to put this feature into Pro Tools for the rest of us - even those that pay more for it!

One can’t help think, that whilst it’s fun to find hacks and easter eggs, it would be be nicer and more sensible for Avid to ship these to us. It does feel a little like a kid begging his Dad to play football until he eventually agrees, by which time the magic is lost.

Come on Avid, surprise us with the next version of Pro Tools, be like Apple and give us stuff we weren’t expecting and don’t have to beg you to include! Repeat after us ‘I must stop taking features out’.
