Pro Tools 9.02 Additional Midi Features

Here are a couple of new midi features that were part of pro tools 9.02 - this release wasn't a "feature" release but more of a bug fix release so these additional features went unnoticed by many pro tools midi users.

The video was presented by Brian Carter, Application Specialist, Avid Los Angeles. Thanks Brian!

Holding 'shift' while moving the notes up and down to lock it's timing gets my vote, that's wound me up for years (and not just in Pro Tools!)

On a PC hold the 'Windows' key and press number pad + or - to move the notes up and down.

He talks about moving the end of the note by nudge value by holding 'Ctrl' which is cool but he doesn't mention that you can extend or shorten the front of the note in the same fashion by holding 'Alt' possibly more useful with my playing as its start of a note that is generally out of time!

Sweet. If it weren't for the bug *additions* in 9.0.2, that would be enough to make me update from 9.0.1. 8-/

Great find, Paul!
And, yes, Brian would do well to take a page from Russ's book and mention the shortcuts on both platforms.

Awesome! Both of these are much wanted features for me. I always loved how Logic
allows you to transpose via option - arrow key and this isn't too different
to do in Pro Tools now.

Just one more step towards doing more midi work in Pro Tools for me.
Thankyou Avid and thankyou Russ for posting this!

Why do the notes not sound when you use the number pad plus and minus function, that bugs me just seeing it in this video

Just press the little speaker icon in the MIDI edit window
