Email Article OK - enough is enough, I'm simply tired of going into my studio and repeating the same process again and again, here are some of the culprits:
And the offence, not having a power switch. Instead the only way to turn them off one at a time is to pull the power supply from the unit. OK the BEHRINGER is low rent so perhaps I should expect that, but Focusrite and Lexicon? Come on, I'd rather pay a $10 tax for a switch than go through this silly ritual.
I know I could attach them to one power board and switch that on and off, but I shouldn't have to.
Anyway, rant over, perhaps it's just me, but I wish when manufacturers were trying to shave a buck they would sit and use the stuff they expect us to use before deciding if it's worth it.

In an attempt at going green, I installed two 8 switch single rack power strips. They are really cheap and are meant for lighting rigs. Now I can power down all of my in line transformers and other devices that constantly draw current without unplugging them. The eight switches are illuminated for a little extra eye candy. You also have complete control of your power up/down sequence, unlike on a single switch. Food for though. Also, I totally agree with paying extra for the power switch as long as they put it on the front of the device!
I honestly just leave everything on, but I my equipment uses low power. Ive even gone the extra mile to use a power inverter in the studio with batteries and have that supply current with out to touching the mains only too charge the battery which actually runs pretty swell for a great week on end. Yes it was a $2,000.00 investment but ive seen people blow that on shoes, cars, clothes, and women. Just my insight.
